Rufus Leake Jr.
Rufus D. Leake Jr., 60, of Culpeper, died Tuesday, Nov. 24 at his residence.
Mr. Leake was born June 3, 1932 in Rappahannock County, the son of the late Elizabeth Fincham and Rufus Daniel Leake Sr.
He was a past vice-president of the Culpeper Jaycees. He was a member of the Woodland United Methodist Church. He joined the Loyal Order of the Moose No. 1348 in March of 1962, earned a 25 club member June 30, 1966, earned his fellowship dep-ee on June 28, 1977, was commissioned as lodge secretary Oct. 7, 1983 and received his Pilgrim degree May 27, 1984. Mr. Leake served every office except treasurer and was the first secretary of Culpeper Moose Lodge No. 1348 to be commissioned by Mooseheart. He also served as Governor four different times and has been Secretary for the past nine years. His hobbies included woodworking and fishing. He was employed by Safeway for 31 years.
