The AmisHville Homemakers Club will hold its Christmas meeting at 6:30 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 7 at Amissville Baptist. Music will be provided by Sheila Woodard, daughter of Rev. Clyde Woodard, pastor of Maranatha Baptist. For more details call Mary at 937-4072.
The community was saddened to learn of the death of Mrs. Eleanor Switzer, wife of Rev. Milton Switzer Sr. on Saturday. She had just returned home a few days ago following surgery at the University of Virginia Hospital.
Funeral services were held at the Hope Hill Baptist Church on Tuesday. She and Rev. Switzer have pastored at Hope Hill Baptist for several years. She will be greatly missed.
Everyone is calling it a miracle. If you saw the photo in last week’s Rappahannock Newn of the tractortrailer and farm tractor accident, you know what I mean.
On Friday, Nov. 20, Sam Finney was driving a tractor on U.S. 211 when he was struck by a tractor-trailer. The tractor landed upside down on the side of the road. Sam was airlifted from Fauquier Hospital to Fairfax Hospital. He is the farm manager at Muskrat Farm.
I spoke with his wife Cathy on Sunday evening. She tells me he was taken out of Intensive Care exactly one week later. His prognosis looks good. Our thoughts and prayers continue for Sam.
