wrong formula for dispersal of sales tax revenue for the past three years, resulting in a $2,438.79 over-payment to the town. According to Cox, the formula for sales tax dispersal came from then-Attomey General Marshall Coleman. The accountant said he’s advised the treasurer to withhold the scales tax payment from the town until the money is recovered. “It will take a considerable amount of time to recover the $2,438.79 by withholding the monthly payments!” Cox added.
Organizer John Walker Jenkins reports that he has received contributions of a farm bell, wash bowl and pitcher set and numerous other items with more promised for the auction to benefit the family of Charles Grigsby.
