wrong formula for dispersal of sales tax revenue for the past three years, resulting in a $2,438.79 over-payment to the town. According to Cox, the formula for sales tax dispersal came from then-Attomey General Marshall Coleman. The accountant said he’s advised the treasurer to withhold the scales tax payment from the town until the money is recovered. “It will take a considerable amount of time to recover the $2,438.79 by withholding the monthly payments!” Cox added.

Organizer John Walker Jenkins reports that he has received contributions of a farm bell, wash bowl and pitcher set and numerous other items with more promised for the auction to benefit the family of Charles Grigsby. The auction is set for this Friday night, December 10, at 7:30 p.m. in Jenkins Auction House in Washington. For further information or to arrange pick-up, call Jenkins at 675-3325.
