a high school football team. “We are trying to show that there is interest in football,” he said. “We had a lot of people really behind us and supporting it.”
Among the backers was a cheerleading squad coached by Linda Dodson. Mrs. Dodson said that her squad of 14 girls, like the players were 12 to 15 years old. She said many of the girls were really shy when they first tried cheerleading, but they have had fun and the experience has helped them overcome their shyness.
