Rufus Gallihugh
Rufus Lewis Gallihugh, 80, of Sperryville died Sunday, Oct. 17 at his residence.
Mr. Gallihugh was born March 16, 1913, in Madison, son of the late Dick and Annie Batman Gallihugh.
He was a retired fanner and a member of Mt. Carmel Baptist Church of Haywood.
Survivors include his wife, Alma Seale Gallihugh of Sperryville; three sons, Charles (Dickie) Gallihugh of Sperryville, Roger Gallihugh of Reva and Richard W. Gallihugh of Madison; nine daughters, Mary Nicholson of Castleton, Joyce Cave and Anna Cave both of Madison, Phyllis Jenkins of Washington, Betty Ayers of Oregon, Becky Mize of North Carolina, Brenda Gallihugh, Jean Nicholson and Peggy Gallihugh all of Sperryville; 22 grandchildren and 14 great-grandchildren.
Also surviving are one brother, Marvin Gallihugh of Orange and a sister, Lynoa Seale of Madison.
He was preceded in death by two daughters, Betty Ruth Gallihugh and Betty Jean Gallihugh and one son, Douglas Michael Gallihugh.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 21 at Preddy Funeral Chapel in Orange with Rev. John K. Burke officiating.
Interment will be in Etlan Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be Charles Cave, Dennis Cave, Wayne Cave, James Nicholson, John Jenkins and Larry Biggs.
Robert Hawkins
Robert E. (Bobby) Hawkins, 52, of Arlington died Saturday, Oct. 16 at Arlington Hospital.
He was born Feb. 26, 1941, in Rappahannock, son of Mrs. Annie Hawkins of Washington and the late Edgar Hawkins.
In addition to his mother, other survivors include his wife, Jeannetta Hawkins; one daughter, Connie Snider; three brothers, Franklin Hawkins of Arlington, Billy Hawkins of Stephens City and Roger Hawkins of Culpeper; three sisters, Jean Alther of Washington, Mabel Burke of Woodville and Dorothy Burke of Vienna; one granddaughter, Samantha Snider and his mother-in-law, Mrs. Ruth Lillard.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday at Murphy Funeral Home in Arlington.
Burial was at Flint Hill Methodist Church Cemetery.
