Ironically, the parents must give consent for treatment, although they may not have known about the abortion. The parents are also responible for the medical bills and will be involved with potential long-term complications. Dr. Anderson says that since parents must give consent for all other surgery performed on minors, it is illogical that the state of Virginia would regard this surgery as sacrosanct.
Second, Mr. Wood followed the liberal spending habits of the bereaucrats in Richmond by voting to authorize the state (our taxes) to build a $19 million Lottery office building in downtown Richmond. Opponents noted a 25 percent vacancy rate in commercial office space in downtown Richmond. How can Mr. Wood justify a $19 million waste of our money?
It’s time for Mr. Wood’s chickens to come home to roost. For these reasons, I am supporting Jay Katzen for delegate.

To the Editor:
George Allen, the Republican candidate for Governor of Virginia, labels his TV spots with the line: “A Honest New Generation of Leadership.” One of his commercials carries a heavy attack on Mary Sue Terry, the Democratic candidate, blaming her for an increase in violent crime while she was Attorney General.
Allen knows that in Virginia the Attorney General is not responsible for prosecuting violent crime. That jpb belongs to the local Commonwealth Attorneys.
