Recipes Using Applesauce
If you want to try using applesauce to replace some of the oil in baked goods, try one of the following recipes. The Whole Wheat Applesauce Cake is taken from the American Heart Association Cookbook, and the recipe for Applesauce Gingerbread is from the Virginia Apple Commission. The third recipe is an easy way to make apple butter using homemade or canned applesauce if you don’t have a large copper kettle and the time and manpower to make it outside “the old-fashioned way.”
