Fairfax resident Sally Haynes has been named director of communications for Washington Gas, effective Oct. 1. Ms. Haynes will be responsible for media relations, federal legislative activities, corporate philanthropy, and customer, employee and shareholder communications.
Ms. Haynes joined Washington Gas in 1963 and has held management positions in marketing, communications, consumer relations and information systems. Most recently, she was director of public affairs for the company’s Virginia Division where she was responsible for state and local government and community relations.
Ms. Haynes has served in leadership capacities for numerous community organizations including the International Children’s Festival, Fairfax Fair, Leadership Fairfax and the Fairfax-Falls Church United Way.
She is a member of the Fairfax Committee of 100, Corporate Community Relations, Council, Fairfax
