Jackson District representative Ellis Bingham said, “My main concern is the mandates leveled on the schools. Those and other mandates are killing small populated counties. The only solution is for elected offi-/ rials at the state and federal levels to take some of these obligations off our back. In every case they’re cognizent of the fact we have a limited budget and need to try to lessen the burden on real estate taxes as much as possible.”
