Robb voted himself a raise on two occasions while the people were still told to tighten their own belts. Robb and Goode are both political insiders, with baggage and debts of many sorts owed to many people and groups, especially the tobacco industry. Spannaus is also not a free agent, bound by the Larouche agendas. Clute is the only candidate talking with and listening to the people. That’s why she supports smoke-free environments in public places. After all, breathing is still a popular thing to do.

Earlier this spring I received a letter from Mike Massie, Chairman of the Rappahannock County Planning Commission, soliciting input from various community-based business, professional and public interest organizations in an attempt to assess concerns these groups have for possible consequences which the proposed Disney’s America project may have on Rappahannock.
It is my understanding that the information thus gathered is intended to assist the Planning Commission in the upcoming review of the Comprehensive Plan.
In response to this, representing the Rappahannock League for Environmental Protection (RLEP) as its President, I contacted Mr. E.M. Risse of Synergy Planning, Inc., who has been doing an on-going indepth analysis of and comparism with Disney related proejcts in Anaheim, Ca., and Orlando, Fla. in the form of a slide-show followed by discussion.
