Mr. i^osteuo receivea a w-aay suspended sentence, but must pay court costs.
A preliminary hearing was held for Brian Joseph McNulty, 22, of Philadelphia. Mr. McNulty was charged with possession of a Schedule I controlled substance, psilocybin mushrooms, which is a felony.
Mr. McNulty was a passenger in a vehicle with two friends which was stopped by Virginia State Trooper Sean Knick last February 16. According to Trooper Knick, he received consent from the driver of the car to search the vehicle and the trunk. When searching Mr. McNulty’s duffle bag in the trunk, he found a bag of what later turned out to be psilocybin mushrooms. Mr. McNulty told him that he had gotten them at Mardi Gras and that he and his friends were on their way back to Georgetown. I j. Judge Charles Foley stated that he believed that there is probable cause that Mr. McNulty violated the law pertaining to possession of a Class I controlled substance. He will refer the case to the Grand Jury, which will decide on July 11 whether ■ to indict Mr. McNulty on the charge.
