in the aftermath of the Republican convention last Saturday, the Richmond Times-Dispatch reported that some supporters of Republican Jim Miller, who lost to Oliver North, are prepared to vote in the primary for Virgil Goode.

Here in Rappahannock, former. Republican Delegate George Beard of Culpeper apppeared at a function for Virgil Goode Saturday afternoon and announced that he will vote in the primary for Senator Goode.

Virgil Goode is the one candidate for the U.S. Senate of either party, who can look to the future. Virgil Goode will not be forced to respond to yesterday’s headlines. He is ideally equipped, by background and philosophy, to take the Virginia message of integrity, dedication to principle and fiscal responsibility to Washington.

I urge all Virginians to support Virgil Goode for the U.S. Seante next Tuesday.
