The Rappahannock Monarchs lost their first game, but came back to win the second game in Apple Valley Baseball League action Sunday.
Vincent Aylor led Rapp at the plate in the first game with a single and a double. Stoney Frye took the loss on the mound. Rookie pitcher Leroy North came in, in relief and did a fine job. The score of the first game was New Market 10, Rapp 4.
In the second game Rappahannock defeated last year’s champs 19 to 6. William Parker led Rapp with three singles. Chris Anderson picked up the win on the mound, with Luther Alexander providing strong relief.
This coming Sunday, June 12 Rapp will be away, playing Edinburg at Shenandoah Park and Recreation at 1 p.m. The next home game will be June 19 at Rappahannock High School beginning at 1 p.m. against Woodstock.
