Jeame Waldron, DVM, Mashall holds the course record of 11 hours and 44 minutes actual riding time, set in 1993. Three-and-one-half hours of mandatory veterinary checks are added at points along the trail to assure that the horse is fit to continue. This “Fit to Continue” criteria is also used at the finish of the ride before a completion or any other recognition can be received.

The start of the ride will be at 5 a.m. on Saturday, June 11 at the 4H Center south of Front Royal. The 50 mile competitors will finish at Egypt Bend near Luray, starting between 1 and 2 p.m. and the 100 mile riders will finish, starting at about 9 p.m., back at the 4H Center.
