As the dust settles from the Republican convention, many GOP supporters are looking with dismay at their candidate Ollie North.
What a choice! Ollie lied to Congress; he lied to the President; and he lied to you, the American people. Why should anybody think that he has stopped lying? And how can anybody believe anything he says?
Ollie garnered the nomination through the hard work and fanatical zeal of a handful of supporters. But their zeal—misguided as it is—is going to smash the Virginia Republican party into more pieces than Humpty Dumpty. There will be at least one, and possibly several, splinter candidates spun off from the distraught and fractured Republicans.
Fortunately the nuyority of Virginia citizens, both Republicans and Democrats, are not as naive as Ollie’s supporters. They see Ollie for what he is: A power hungry unscrupulous sociopath who can’t tell tact from fantasy as he twists the past (and his followers) to fit his dreams of grandeur.
Fortunately there is a choice. The choice is to vote Democratic.
