Inspired by the work of American artist Alexander Calder, the inventor of the mobile, a play which follows a young artist’s journey to capture his vision of the world comes to The Theatre at Washington at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18.

A Perfect Balance combines mime, dance, text, projections and visual art to tell the story of a young artist. This gentle fantasy features the internationally-acclaimed performance of the actor and visual artist Kevin Reese.

Presented over 260 times in theaters, art galleries and schools throughout the United States, the one-man performance was presented at a major international festival in Lyon, France, in June 1993. It was applauded by the French press as “a poetic piece...an intelligent one...a play of remarkable unity and exact beauty.”
