I wonder what will happen to Little Washington if the ARB has no say in what happens to the church that is the heart and center of town.
What will happen if we have no building ordinance? The landscape will be plagued by clearcutting and obtrusive architecture. Those who care about life in the Blue Ridge should come and voice it at the Planning Commission meeting at 7:30 p.m. on June 15 at the County Courthouse.

It is interesting to note two bits of news that were reported this week. The first was a new study of pollution levels in thirteen national parks. One of the parks cited was Shenandoah National Park. Our visual pollution level is comparable to the Los Angeles Basin. This, of course, made my day, as I moved to a rural area so that my children could breathe the same air as people in exhaust-laden L. A.
The second study concerned the EPA having to strongarm the Allen administration into adopting stronger emission control standards. Allen and his environmental secretary, Becky Dunlop, claim that they’re coming up with their own
89.5%
