Actor/mobile artist Kevin Reese will conduct a workshop prior to the performance on the theory and techniques involved in making mobiles. He will begin by presenting a quarter-scale model of the mobile in the production, explaining its design and execution. He will then construct a mobile, using “found objects” (participants’ shoes, watches, etc.) Participants will then work in small grops with materials which Reese will provide to create their own small mobiles. The workshop is designed for adults and children aged seven years and older. Children should be accompanied by an adult.
A Perfect Balance will be presented at The Theatre at Washington, Gay and Jett Streets, at 8 p.m. on Saturday, June 18. The optional workshop will be held at The Middle Street Gallery, a block from The Theatre at 6:30 p.m. Admission to the workshop is free to those holding a ticket for the performance. Tickets are $10 for adults and $5 for children. For reservations and information, phone 675-1263.
