With one week to go to qualify for the November ballot several additional candidates have officially entered the races, according to Registrar Nancy Leake.
Among constitutional officers Commissioner of Revenue Beverly Atkins and Commonwealth’s Attorney Peter Luke have joined Treasurer Frances Foster on the ballot. Neither Sheriff John Henry Woodward nor challenger Gary Settle had yet qualified.
Among candidates for the Board of Supervisors all the incumbents except Chairman Hubert S. Gilkey have qualified. For Hampton District Michael M. Massie is on the ballot.
