Amissville Carnival Set

Amissville Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department’s annual carnival is set for June 21-24. Family night is Wednesday. Parade will be held Thursday evening, June 22. To enter, call J.B. Carter, 937-4218. Crowning of the queen, Jr. Miss and Little Miss will be held Friday night. To enter call Sandi Carter, 937-4218. Cash prize drawings will be held Saturday night. Prizes include Si ,000, $500, two $50’s and two $25. Tickets are $1 and may be purchased from contestants or department members.

Hitt Family Dinner, Reunion

The descendants of Peter Hitt, one of the 1714 German Settlers at Germanna, Va., will gather at the Holiday inn in Culpeper for a Hitt family dinner and reunion on July 14.

Dinner will be served at 7:30 to, allow for late arrivals in Culpeper of those, who will be attending the Germanna Reunion on Saturday and Sunday. However, those arriving early and those living nearby will father at 5 for Happy Hour and to discuss their Hitt Family Genealogy. Those attending are asked to bring with them the Hitt Memorabilia they might have to share.
