Mr. Day said he felt the Sheriffs Office did not act fast enough. “I felt a crime was committed and the wheels of justice moved really slow,” he said.
Mr. Day went to the Sheriffs Office to file a complaint right after the incident at the dumpster. According to Sheriff John Henry Woodward, Mr. Day gave him a license number, but that number was either incomplete or inaccurate, so it took a while to determine what the number should have been, to match the description of the truck given by Mr. Day. Sheriff Woodward said he matched up the truck with one of the men at the dumpster that night, and on Sunday spoke with one of the men and found out who was involved in the incident.
Also on Tuesday, a summons on the charge of abusive language was , issued to Mr. Hitt, and an arrest warrant was issued for Mr. Day for depositing illegal trash in the dumpster.
