He was a Golden Heritage Life Member of the NAACP; served as board member and president of the Black Heritage Society of Washington State; board chairman of the South Beacon Hill Steering Committee; board member of the Association of King County Historical Organizations, the Holly Park Community Clinic, the Neighborhood Health Center, and the Southeast Seattle Crime Commission; and chairman of the United Negro College Fund Communications Committee.
Saturday’s mid-day memorial service at the Shiloh Baptist Church in Woodville will include tributes to “Pops" Warner, resolutions and personal recollections. Copies of his various awards and citations will be on display. Friends and relatives are invited to “meet and greet” each other in the church social hall before the service, beginning at 10:45 a.m.
