The bride is the great-granddaughter of the late Mrs. Lucy Henry Wood of Sunny Slope Farm, Flint Hill.
The bride crossed the lawn to meet Tier groom on the arm of her father. She carried a white parasol trimmed with fresh flowers and wore an antebellum gown, its off-the-shoulder fitted bodice trimmed in pearls.
The matron of honor, mother of the bride, served as her only attendant.
Mr. Welch served as his son’s best man and only attendant.
Ushers were Mr. G. Lee Buckner, Jr., brother of the bride, Mr. Dale Carter and Mr. Joseph Perkins, brother-in-law' of the groom, all of Richmond.
Following the ceremony guests enjoyed the reception, music, the historic setting, and each other.
The couple will make their home at “Pig Point,” North River, Mathews, County.
