Our taxes keep going up, yet our children are getting the shaft on their education. The Aug. 3, 1994, edition of the Rappahannock News reported on 1TBS scores of the 4th, 8th and 11th grades and found that in Rappahannock County all scores in general were below the state average. That is a sad statement to make concerning our children’s' education.
When classrooms continue to be overcrowded, scores will continue to drop. The teachers will feel overwhelmed and morale will get very low. Under these conditions is it any wonder why more and more parents are home schooling?
1 hope all parents concerned about these numbers will express their concerns to our school system.
