Mr. Gilbert Ashby Burke, 83, of Woodville, died on Wednesday, May 31 at the V.A. Center in Martinsburg W.Va.
-He was born in Sperryville on Dec. 8, 1911. • He was a Cpl. in the Army, World War II, France for four years.
His parents were the late John Ashby Burke and Almira Bertha HaWkins Burke.
Survivors include a brother, Marvin Russell Burke of Woodville; a sister, Mary Frances Lillard of Front Royal; one niece and three nephews.
.He was preceded in death by two brother, Henry Elton Burke and James Lester Burke.
Funeral services were held on Saturday, June 3 at Geest Funeral Home Chapel in Culpeper with the Rev. John Burke officiating.
