Have another Horrid Example, this one for the Chicago Tribune’s review of a Tony Bennett concert: “Walking unannounced onto the stage of Orchestra Hall, the sold-out house burst into wild, sustained applause.” Did you ever see a house walking?
Actor Burt Reynolds suffered a broken jaw in an accident in 1984. Recalled the Tribune Media Service in 1993: “Also chronically nauseous, Reynolds’ weight dropped from 205 to 130 pounds.” Can weight be nauseous? Seems unlikely.
