Thelma Russell

Thelma Dennis Russell, 72, of Culpeper died Monday, June 5 at i Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton.

She was born in Rappahannock County on Aug. 8, 1922, a daughter of the late Peter Darr and Myrtle Tobin Dennis.

She was the widow of John Garland Russell, Jr.

Mrs. Russell was a retired Registered Nurse at the Fauquier Hospital in Warrenton. She had retired after 32 years of service working as a nurse, the OB Nursing Supervisor, and then the Nursing Supervisor for the entire hospital.

She is survived by a son and his wife, John G. Russell III and Linda Russell of Winchester; a daughter and her husband, Virginia R. Kidwell and Charles E. Kidwell, Jr. of Culpeper; a brother, William C. Dennis of Jackson, S.C.; a sister, Stella D. Johnson of Luray; two granddaughters, Mary Russell and Robyn Battaile and three grandsons, Monford Russell, John G. Russell, IV and John Battaile.

Funeral services will be held on Wednesday, June 7 at Moser Funeral Home in Warrenton with the Rev. Barbara J. Minter officiating.

Interment will be in Washington Masonic Cemetery in Washington.
