Additionally Madison County is planning to drop out of Piedmont’s vocational school, and Culpeper County is reducing its involvement, Dr. Gangel said. That would increase the cost to schools remaining at Piedmont.
The planning team recommended that the county continue its relationship with Piedmont for such specialized classes as licensed practical nursing and fire fighting. Piedmont will probably pick up increasing use as a special education center for programs that are very expensive for each school system to provide for very few children. However, most vocational education would be available at the high school under the committee’s recommendation.
