Sunday afternoon Mr. and Mrs. Bill Peregory and Mrs. Lucille Peregory of Front Royal arrived at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory and family on Castleton Ford Road with ice cream and cake in honor of their son Joe’s birthday. Others enjoying the occasion were Mr. and Mrs. Johnny Bragg, Kellie, Karla, Matthew and Mark of Culpeper and Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grigsby, Crissy, Kevin and Jason.
Other birthday wishes go out this week to Peggy Tharp who celebrates her day today, Wednesday.
Best wishes on their wedding anniversary are in store for Mr. and Mrs. Owen Cubbage whose day was Monday, the 20th.
New Salem Baptist Church was the setting for another “Pickin and Sing Along” sessions on Friday evening, beginning at 7 p.m. with Mr. Earl Dodson of Orange as the featured performer. All in attendance enjoyed a great performance there.
Mr. and Mrs. Buddy Grigsby entertained Mr. and Mrs. Joe Peregory at Outback Steakhouse in Fredericksburg in observance of Mr. Peregory’s birthday.
Nazareth Baptist Church on Route 707 held a service of re-dedication on Sunday, with lunch being served after the services.
Some of our residents traveled to the Piedmont Technical School on Tuesday evening for their open house.
Mr. and Mrs. Shelvy Frazier spent last weekend in Savannah, Georgia.
Saturday, the Salem Fire and Rescue Company held their pancake supper at the fire hall. Six dollars for adults and four dollars for youth, gave those attending a meal “all you could eat” consisting of pancpkes, apples, coffee or tea and their famous fresh lean hog sausage.
