Every cafeteria seat, every table, at Rappahannock Elementary School was filled Saturday night with parents and children attending the annual banquet of the Rappahannock Soccer League.
After more than 250 peopjle devoured the potluck dishes crowding a half-dozen tables, they applauded each player and each volunteer parent, for his or her efforts that season.
Diana Corbin, the mother of several soccer players and the founder of the all-girls’ team, received the “golden shoe” award for outstanding contributions to the cause of soccer.
The crowd cheered Stacy Woodward, a member of the all-girls’ team, for her invitation to play goalie on a four-county, all-star girls’ team.
