Thanksgiving this year through Community Action. Unfortunately, the rate slows during Christmas; she expects only 25 or 30 families to be adopted in the month ahead.
Faith Christian Church and Outreach in Warrenton calls its “adoption” program Share My Heart. According to Addell Good they already have sponsors fipr 15 families and they expect as many as 20 more as Christmas nears.
“The families have mostly requested coats and clothing,” said Ms. Good. “The Department of Transportation has taken eight to 10 families.”

The Jaycees’ Christmas project is a mammoth undertaking of which Adopt-AFamily is only a part.
Craig Damone, project chairman, said their annual Toy Workshop is staffed not only by the 212 members of the WarrentonFauquier Jaycees but also by angels in Girl Scouts, Cub Scouts, schools and churches.
Damone said, “Last year we helped 275 families and 750 children.”
The Jaycees have three different donation programs. First is their Adopt-AFamily, in which community members provide food and gifts for needy families.
Damone said each family package should contain toys appropriate for children under 12, as well as a box of food with a holiday meat. * - Anyone interested in adopting a family
