According to Dr. Gangel that would require two new full-time positions for the maintenance repair and home care vocational areas and a contract with Lord Fairfax- Community College to train students to operate water and sewer plants. ,
It would also require building expansion to include three labs, one for the maintenance repair, one for environmental and water technology and one for home care. Four additional classrooms were recommended.
The current school budget includes $5,000 to conduct a feasibility study of bringing most vocational education back to the high school.
Chairman Beverly Massie, who also serves on the Piedmont School Board, said the county has at most five years to solve the problem of how to provide vocational programs to replace those offered at Piedmont.
