of the Folger Consort. His virtuosic music-making has resulted in guest appearances with the National Symphony Orchestra, Concert Royal, the 20th Century Consort, the Washington Bach Consort, the Annapolis Brass Quintet and other groups. He has helped to design the splendid Christmas entertainments produced by the Folger Consort at the Washington National Cathedral and will reproduce some of the same lovely music in little Washington.
Harpsichordist James Weaver is the founder of the Smithsonian Chamber Players, and developed the Smithsonian’s Chamber Music Program to incorporated a number of resident ensembles, including the Smithson String Quartet and the Castle Trio, both of which have performed at the Theatre. His numerous recordings include three which have won “Record of the Year” awards.
The Smithsonian at Little Washington concert series is now in its fourth season at the Theatre. The concerts to be held in the new year are: Lambert Orkis, fortepiano, and Kenneth Slowik, cello, playing music of Beethoven, on Jan. 20, and the Smithson String Quartet playing music of Schubert, Mendelssohn and Beethoven, on March 23.
