Tuesday evening the School Board adopted a $6.26 million budget for the coming year.
The school budget goes to the Board of Supervisors next. The supervisors will schedule a public hearing on the budget for some time in April with a vote to adopt a budget ior the schools scheduled for May 6.
The School Board’s budget represents a cut of $118,000 following decisions made at last week’s budget work session. The request from the county is $3.9 million, a 6 percent increase from the current budget.
Added to the budget were $2,500 for further increases in the cost of sharing with the Water and Sewer Authority the expense of sewer plant operators and $7,800 from the federal government for school library purchases.
