John Rice, senior hydrogeologist with ENSAT, said the Thornton River and its tributaries are the primary dischage areas in Sperryville and “everything else” is a groundwater recharge area. ENSAT will include a study of the soils and the underlying bedrock in Sperryville.
During the study ENSAT will collect information on well depths and yields from property owners and local well drillers.
