Most of the works on display al the gallery are portraits of people whom she has found interesting in oui community, people who didn’t ask to be portrayed but were selected because she thought them worthy ol note. Her paintings are a result of hei penetrating appreciation of the value of these people.
Whatever “magic” there is in these portraits lies in the patient, painstaking skill and uncompromising devotion Robin has brought to the representation of her subjects. This “magic” finds mystical amplification in the backgrounds of her portraits, which she has crowded with images from nature and her models’ lives. Representing their worlds, these images are likewise portrayed with a meticulous cleanliness and exactitude that infuses them with authority.
