Congratulations to Mr. Nelson Burner upon receiving the “Citizen of the Year” award last Thursday, March 21 at the Amissville Ruritan’s monthly meeting.

Happy belated birthday to Mrs. Margaret Settle who celebrated her day on Tuesday, March 26.

Mr. Bill Segrest was awarded the “Ruritan of the Year” award. Mr. Segrest has been a ruritan for ten years. He was president for four years; one year as past president; secretary for three years; and one year as chairman of the Programs Committee.

Following Thursday evening’s award ceremonies, the Ruritans enjoyed a very informative presentation by Rappahannock County Sheriff Gary Settle and DARE officer, Capt. Jeff Brown. *

The W.C. Smiths enjoyed family visits Saturday by Teresa Jones and family and Mike Bums and family.
