Upcoming Events

Microcomputing Class Scheduled

There will be adult education class held at the Rappahannock County High School on Tuesdays April 2 through May 28. Class time is 6 p.m. to 9 p.m. Students will leam word processing, database, and spreadsheet using Microsoft Works on Macintosh computers. No typing skills necessary. Total cost for the class is $30. Due to the limited number of available computers, class size is limited to 16 students. Call Jeanie Dwyer at 987-8773 to register.

Shooting Matches Planned

Spring Shooting Matches will be held on Saturdays thru April 27 at the Castleton Community Volunteer Fire and Rescue Company. The first round starts at 1 p.m., 12 gauge only, no sleeves or scopes. All guns will be checked.

Prizes will include various meats and money. Coffee and soft drinks will be available. For shooting match information call J. Woodward at 937-3076.

Rummage Sale Scheduled

A rummage sale to benefit the Spring Mountain Waldorf School will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, March 30 and Sunday, March 31. There will be a special sale on Sunday.

The sale will be held at the Washington Fire Hall, right off U.S. 211 in Washington, For more information call 364-9639 or 675-1458.

Hike to Little Devil's Stairs

On Saturday, April 6 the Ragged Mountain Resource Center will be conducting a hike to the Little Devil’s Stairs area of the Shenandoah National Park. Interested participants may meet at Mountainside Market on Rt. 211 West of Sperryville from 9:45-10 a.m. or at the parking area at the end of Rt. 614 at 10:15. Return time should be between 3-4 p.m.

Participants should bring layered clothing according to the weather of the day, and food for themselves. For more information, call Hunt Harris at 675-1879. Donations are welcomed.

Loan Closet To Meet

The Rappahannock Loan Closet will hold a meeting at 2 p.m. on Thursday, April 4 in the meeting room at the Rappahannock Library. Members and any interested persons are encouraged to attend.

Story Hour Underway

The Rappahannock County Library story hour for pre-school children, ages 2 to 5, is underway and will continue 10:30 a.m. on Tuesdays through May.
