The Rappahannock County Board of Supervisors may have reached an agreement with the Fletcher family for purchase of 12.78 acres of property. At the evening session of the March 3 meeting of the Board, Bryant Fletcher told the supervisors that $6,000 per acre and an agreement by the county to replace a drain pipe would satisfy the family’s requirements to reach a sale. The pipe was placed there by the county and is causing problems with”' septic discharge in the area.
After much discussion on the subject the Board agreed to look at replacing the existing PVC pipe with a concrete pipe as Mr. Fletcher requested. Mr. Fletcher had a concern about the weight of heavy equipment he has to move over the existing pipe. If the property sale agreement is reached he will have to move the heavy equipment over the drainage area and he felt it should be upgraded and the drainage back up problem cleared up.
The Board will make a written proposal to Mr. Fletcher in the near future.
The Board also approved rezoning of the Bradford property in Flint Hill
