Virginia Cooperative Extension has been sponsoring the parent education series, “Becoming A Love and Logic Parent” for several years now. This program, developed by the ClineFay Institute, gives parents techniques to prepare their children for a world that requires responsibility and maturity for survival.

Raising children who are self-confident, motivated, and ready for the “real” world is not an easy task. The “Love and Logic” program:

• Shows parents of child care providers how to provide a nurturing environment so children may choose for themselves between right and wrong.

• Teaches techniques that will set limits without nagging, begging, and/or losing ones temper.

• Provides a win-win approach to teaching children how to be responsible. Children win because they learn how to solve their own problems and gain confidence to meet challenges.
