Sheriff Settle said that Dep. Currence came highly recommended from people he previously worked with, including Dale Welch in Flint Hill. Dep. Currence lives in Winchester right now but plans on relocating to Rappahannock.
“He is excited about that and looks forward to getting back here,” said Sheriff Settle. He added that Dep. Currence exhibits a lot of maturity and said, “I see a lot of potential with Mark.”
Junior Leake, who has most recently been the Animal Warden for the county, has also been hired as a new jailer. He will still assist whomever is hired as the new animal warden until they are ready to work on their own.
