Alther who lives just above here and asked him about cemeteries near his house. The only two he knew where the Grigsby cemetery and one going up Deirdre Lane next to the Snead farm. I’d previously documented Grigsby Cemetery so we preceded on to the other one just back of the Grigsby cemetery over the fence on the former Snead property on the side of the road are the graves of W.T. Gore and his wife, Sarah D. Gore. These are contained within a nice little wrought iron fence.
We then crossed Pullen’s Bluff Road to Route 622. Taking a right back toward Rediviva. Near Gid Brown Bible Church on the hill to the east and back of the church building is the Poles family cemetery. We photographed and copied inscriptions from thirteen well kept graves here. The next cemetery is located on the hill across from the Poles cemetery, within walking distance. Due to the grown up condition of the place we decided to drive around the other side. At the intersections of Routes 614 and 622 taking a left, crossing a branch of the Covington River at the old John Kendall Store, around the driveway past Ralls, Kendall and Huff up to Mr. Albert Gatewood’s. Asking permission, Mr. Gatewood said we could drive up.
