5>herm Settle made a report on me jail and department expenditures. But, even given the worst case scenario he said the jail has made money. That is due for the most part to revenues received from housing inmates from other counties.
There was a discussion during the public comment interval on trailers and if they should be allowed in the county due to safety hazards they represent for those living in them.
Peter Kramer brought the issue to the attention of the supervisors. and said he would like to see the Board put together a study team to look at the standards for mobile homes and would like a serious discussion on how the county will respond to the issue of increased location of mobile homes in Rappahannock.
The Board discussed the funding problems the PD9 EMS Council is now facing with the withdrawal of Fauquier and Culpeper County funds and possibly funds from Madison County also. The county uses the EMS Council for. grant applications and does not want to loose that.
The Board decided to have EMS Council director Richard Thatcher come and speak to them on the matter.
The Board discussed ways to collect outstanding taxes, especially for lots in Chester Gap. They anticipate selling some of the parcels for delinquent taxes.
Reports were made about the completion of training for the Board of Assessors and updates on the General Assembly. The revised agenda was adopted and the accounts approved.
