Health Programs Scheduled

The Rappahannock-Rapidan Community Services Board invites persons 60 years of age and older to participate in the following Health Promotion/Screening Programs to be held at the Rappahannock Senior Nutrition Center:

Program/Video on Con Games Against the Elderly by the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office at 11:30 a m. on Monday, March 10; Program on Depression in Seniors by Bob Trainer at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, March 12 and a Blood Pressure Check by Melinda Beach at 11:30 a.m. on Friday, March 21. Volunteer Tax Help

Free tax assistance is available to people on low and middle incomes to complete federal and state income tax forms. Trained volunteers will be at the Rappahannock County Library on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and Tuesdays from 10 a.m. to noon. Bring your 1996 tax package, all W2 and 1099 forms and last years return. Program sponsored by IRS, AARP and Va. Cooperative Extension.

Support Group To Meet

The Blue Ridge Brain Injury Support Group will meet from 2 to 4 p.m. on Saturday, March 8 in the Parish Hall at the Trinity Episcopal Church. For information, directions, transportation or support call Pat Salmon at 675-3137.

Video-Discussion Series Set

On Tuesday, March 18, at 7 p.m. the IRIS Centre for Shamanic Studies will show the video “Radiant Life: Meditations and Visions of Hildegard of Bingen.” This video weaves the music, poetry, and luminous visions of this powerful Benedictine Abbess into a single, deeply spiritual meditation about the sacred relationship between God and the natural world.
