Wayland Krystal Burke, a second grader in Mrs. Geraldine Payne’s class at RCES enjoyed DARE Day on June 1 and absolutely loved the opportunity that the Park Police officials provided for the children. Lines of children waited for their turn at getting up on the horse. The entire day was deemed successful despite the threat of rain. The sixth annual event was organized by School Resource Officer Captain Jeff Brown of the Rappahannock Sheriff’s Office. Krystal is the daughter of Jeff and Becky Burke of Washington.
