On May 5 siblings of my brother-in-law, Bobby L. Smoot, gathered at the Washington Fire Hall for, what seems will become an annual event.
This particular day, all six af the Smoot brothers and sisters came together for one of the few times in their adult lives, having not held such a reunion in recent years. Some 34 members of this family, which included three aunts and some in-laws celebrated.
Bonnie, Allen, Rodger, Bobby, Debbie and Sue (who arrived late) are now separated only by geography. Becoming re-acquainted in latter years, they are rediscovering each other, bits and pieces of their lives when together as a family when children. Some had pictures, athers little mementos but collectively they all had memaries they shared, even if they were fragmented memories.
That place and time so many years ago, which was so quickly and drastically altered with the untimely death of their mother at age 32 in an automobile accident in 1964. Then came the illness of their father who died
