Ballard Art & Rugs official^ ly opened to the public in MaJ of this year on Main Street in Old Sperryville Square next to the Old Sperryville Bookshop.
The gallery, which features local and internationally known artists, and decorative rugs, is Robert H. Ballard’s second location ijj Rappahannock, the first gallery being on Main Street in Washington.
Robert H. Ballard, with over 30 years experience in the art field, established his own fine art and rug company in Little Washington in 1997. As curator and director to museums and art galleries from San Francisco to Washington, D.C., Mr. Ballard brings a wealth of knowledge and expertise to the area.
The gallery’s collection of rugs from Turkey, Persia,.' India, Tibet, Egypt, Pakistan and Afghanistan, and China is unequaled. Specializing in vegetal dyed and hand spun wool rugs, they are wovefl works of art.
