Harry Lee Whorton Sr., 79, of Madison, died Sunday, May 27 at his residence.

He was born in Rappahannock County on May 18, 1922 to the late James and Ida McFarland Whorton.

Mr. Whorton is survived by two sons, Linnum Whorton of Madison and Donald Whorton of Orange and two daughters, Juanita Whorton Haynes of Madison and Linda French of Culpeper.

Additional survivors include the mother of his children, Inez Rebecca Whorton; nine grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he was predeceased by a son, Willie Thurman Whorton; four brothers and two sisters.

Funeral services were conducted on Wednesday, May 30 at Found and Sons Funeral Chapel with Rev. George Whorton officiating. Interment followed at Fairview Cemetery.
