• Mythology NationaJ Exam: The Mythology exam fof high school students took place in April, and the results listed eight students from WCDS as medal winners. Elizabeth Williams received a Silver Medal for her efforts, and Arlen Sherwood and Christina Luke received Bronze Medals. Corona Laurea Medals were handed out to Maureen Dale,
Stephen Dowell, and
Thomas Dowell. Corona
Oliva medals were given
to David Riedel and
Sheena Rye.
• The athletic fields
around WCDS were a
blur of red and white
shorts on Friday, May 25
as students competed in
the yearly Field Day. The
skies were threatening, but the rains held off, giving the Athenians and Spartans plenty of time to compete against each other for first place. Although each team played with much heart and passion, the Athenians managed to edge past the Spartans and win the trophy. Good job well done, Athenians!
• Wakefield Country Day School’s Publication Depart1 ment handed out the yearbooks on Friday, also, making the end of the day full of surprises. Mr. Michael Vargo, Headmaster of WCDS, was th£ recipient of this year’s dedica4tion.
Surprised by the dedica1 tion, Mr. Vargo was also quite touched. His dedication to the students and the school haven’t gone un-noticed, as well as his desire to create & safe, nurturing, challenging environment for our children. Thank you for showing us how to succeed, Mr. Vargo!
