Rappahannock News File Photo The first carnival of the year is currently underway in Sperryville and will continue through Saturday evening, June 9. The event begins tonight, Wednesday with special rides from Virginia Premier Amusement Company. Ride all evening on Wednesday for one low price. The parade will be held on Thursday this year (not Friday) and will begin at 7 p.m. A number of exhibitors, local talent, fire companies, rescue units, marching bands and other entertainment including “Cooter” will be featured in the parade line. Don’t miss it, bring the entire family for an evening of good, wholesome fun. On Saturday night at 10 the queen will be crowned and the awarding of prizes will be held at midnight. The carnival grounds are located in Sperryville on US 211.
